] The year is:

[1:19] Will they be the same that we found last time? Will they be all new messages? I don't know. We'll find out here in a few moments. Things we're looking for, things that hold up mirrors to society. Maybe they give us hope things will be better in the future. Maybe they just tell us how to be better human beings to one another. Now, all of that said, to those who are within the sound of my voice who have not watched Babylon 5 for the first time for yourselves, this is your one and only warning. Spoiler warning, that is. Because from this point forward, Jeff and I are free to talk about anything about Babylon 5 from any point in the franchise, not just the show itself, but the franchise. So if you have not watched this incredible show for the first time for yourself, stop. Don't go any further. We don't want to spoil things for you. And trust us, this is a show you want to go through spoiler free as much as possible. We've got a whole show called Babylon 5 for the first time, where thanks to our incredible community, Jeff and I were kept completely spoiler free. Go check us out there. And then when you get done with it, you've gone through that and you're coming back for your second watch. Because as Jeff said.

[2:19] Babylon 5 is a show that you can watch for the first time twice. So that being said, if you're still here, shoot. Why are you still here? Go! Go! This week, Brent, we're watching the episode of View from the Gallery. When we watched this series for the first time, we would predict what the next episode was going to be about based on the title alone. What did you predict this one was going to be about? I said Lower Decks. You did. That's what I said. Lower Decks. What about you? Man, I thought this was going to be all about Byron and the telepaths. It's going to be 40 minutes of them watching just the operations. I know there's a reason they didn't make that episode. But I thought like I was really I was I think I was still hyper focused on the compression of season four. Yeah. And I was like, this is going to make up for all the stuff they would have plopped into the fourth season had they had the time for it. Hmm. Well, one of us was right. And one of us was wrong. I'll leave it to you guys to guess who was right.

[3:24] Well, Jeff, um, that's what we predicted. Then you and I got a chance to watch the episode for ourselves. And then we got together to talk about it. Why don't we take a look at some of our comments from our first conversation surrounding this episode? Let's do that. Previously on Babylon five for the first time. A view from the gallery. I had fun with this episode.

[3:47] That's about all I can say about this episode, though. All right. And thanks for joining us. That's literally going to be the show. It's fun. I liked it. I just wonder how they can spend this much time on episodes like this and Paragon of Animals that are ripped from season one. We have 18 stories with these guys left. And this is or at this point 19 stories these guys left and this is what you choose to spend one of them on i did not hate this episode by any stretch of the imagination i just didn't need it i have one note, I have nine notes on this one, but a lot of them are observations. They have the newer Star Furies now, along with the classic Star Furies. Yep, that happened. The station got rocked. Yep, that happened. Byron is no joke. He's really powerful. Yep, that happened. Okay, those are my observations. That's like half of my notes right there. I liked Franklin in this one. The spot where he was talking about his dad. that event where he was rescued by an enemy doctor that would have been really good information in the episode grow post oh, yeah grow post was an episode that was designed to humanize dr franklin dad i became a doctor because of this thing that happened to you.

[5:17] Like his dad is still his inspiration right, and i i just think it would have been it would have been better served to be put there but gropo's did not it was not successful i mean gropo's big win for me was it humanized and made me care about kefir yeah, for eight eight minutes yeah spoo what does spoo actually taste like and don't say chicken, maybe a week ago two weeks ago i saw a clip this person like brought skeletor a bowl of spoo really and skeletor's i hate spoo spoo's awful and, so to see it pop up here again uh it's fun.

[6:01] You know, my favorite thing about that recap, what's that we spent, uh, 10% of the time talking about this episode and 90% talking about other episodes. Well, yeah. Cause you know, I said something in there that I think actually perfectly encapsulates how I still feel about this episode. Having gone all the way through the franchise. I don't hate it. I just don't need it. It can be a fun episode. We can, ha, ha, ha. You said a really good thing about it. This one, Paragon Animals. Why are we dealing? We have so many shows left. Why are we dealing with these season one episodes right now? There might be a more real world reason. The move over to TNT, Lost Notes. Stuff. You know, stuff that got pushed out of the compression and now we're trying to get back to them. I don't know. You know, even despite that recap, I still have fond memories of this episode.

[6:55] I'm excited to dive into it, actually. Well, why don't we do that? Let's do it. It's going to happen right now. As Brent and I are going to watch the episode, we're going to share that with you. If you're watching us on YouTube, you're going to see that edited up, kind of chopped and cut like a reaction video. The full and unedited version of our viewing of a view from the gallery is available on our Patreon page at patreon.com slash bad nerds. And if you're one of those on our podcasting app, hey, let me tell you what. You guys, sometimes you guys are the better for it, Jeff, because I got to tell you, watching some of those recaps there, it's hard to go back and see yourself from a few years ago. Why did you guys watch us back then? You had a choice. You could have just listened.

[7:43] I didn't like looking at that. I'd like to think we're better now. And you know what? If we come back and we see these videos in two years and we talk about these videos of look how awful we looked, then that's probably a good thing. We'll be looking good in two years then is what that means. You will be a wire in two years. Anyway, if you're listening to us on an audio podcasting app, no worries. You're going to hear the whole thing. You'll get the whole conversation. We're not going to leave you out. You will hear the reaction video because we want you to have the reference points for all the stuff that we'll be talking about because we will stop and have conversations in the middle of the episode, and we don't want you guys to miss that. So with that, Jeff, let's watch an episode. Let's view from the gallery. Accessing file. Just keeping the count here for our purposes. Episode two with maximum range as it is. Yeah, my guess is she was on a nine episode contract. You don't have confirmation yet, but this may be the scout fleet the game warned us about. Likely worlds to invade. Dude, that is a tight ponytail she's got. I was going to say, the hair and makeup people were like, oh, that wasn't Claudia Christian? Oh, shoot. The hair and makeup people put their foot in the small of her back and pulled. We win this battle, we go away. We save ourselves a great deal of trouble in the future. I want a life pod set aside for him and Dillon in case things get out of control. He won't leave. I'm actually pretty good at getting John Sheridan to leave things that he's committed to. Captain Lockley to Cobra Bays. Sing!

[9:10] Looks like another red alert. Yeah. Third one. All right, real quick, which one's Mac, which one's Bo? I don't remember. No, don't even say it. It seems like every week something goes wrong around here. And we have to clean it up.

[9:25] Okay, as we record this, the World Cup is happening, wrapped up, whatever, here in America. I got to tell you, one of the things, there are two things that have overly impressed me by visiting foreigners in this country. One, the Tartan Army, the folks from Scotland, look so much fun. Yeah. Oh, I want to be a part of that group. But two, the Japanese fans coming over, cheering for all their people. Apparently everybody keeps a trash bag in their back pocket and afterwards they just start picking up trash all over the place not just theirs all of it not just the hey everybody take care of your own stuff go take it to the trash can no no no they're just cleaning up and then like when people tried to stop them like no this is our culture this is what we do, and i'm like yeah and i've been in japan i've seen them do that like that's how they roll and that's so nice it's so nice but when we came on you, had a question and you've had this question really for a couple years why this episode yeah.
